Shopify’s Winter ‘26 edition, dubbed “RenAIssance”, marks a turning point in the platform’s history. With over 150 updates, Shopify no longer just integrates AI as an assistance tool. Agentic Storefronts: sell directly inside ChatGPT
The most significant feature of this edition is the introduction of Agentic Storefronts. Your products automatically become discoverable and purchasable inside conversational AI platforms like ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot and Perplexity. In practice, a user asking ChatGPT to recommend a product can see your items, check prices and complete the purchase without leaving the conversation.
This sales channel represents a fundamental shift in product discovery. Consumers no longer necessarily go through Google or your website to find your products. They discover them in the flow of their conversations with AI assistants. For merchants, this opens an entirely new acquisition channel that requires no technical configuration.
Sidekick Pulse: from assistant to proactive advisor
Sidekick evolves from a conversational assistant to a true management advisor. Sidekick Pulse continuously analyzes your store data and market trends to send personalized, actionable recommendations. Instead of waiting for you to ask a question, Sidekick identifies opportunities and problems before you do.
