Shopify B2B: sell to professionals from your store
How to use Shopify native B2B features to manage professional catalogs, negotiated pricing and payment terms.
Updated on 8 April 2025
Native B2B in Shopify
Shopify now includes native B2B features that let you sell to professionals from the same store as your B2C sales. Dedicated catalogs, per-company negotiated pricing and deferred payment terms turn your Shopify store into a wholesale selling platform without a third-party app.
Catalogs and pricing by company
Shopify B2B lets you create custom catalogs for each business customer. A wholesaler sees a catalog with wholesale prices and minimum quantities. A reseller sees a different catalog with their negotiated pricing. Visitors who are not logged in see the public catalog with retail prices.
Price lists are managed independently from the public catalog. You define discount percentages per company or fixed prices per product. Volume discounts (quantity tiers) apply automatically at checkout.
Professional payment terms
B2B companies expect payment terms suited to their purchasing processes. Shopify B2B supports deferred payments (net 30, net 60, net 90) and purchase orders. The professional customer places an order, receives an invoice and has the agreed period to pay.
Payment tracking is built into the Shopify back office. You see pending invoices, late payments and the outstanding balance per customer. Automatic reminders reduce unpaid invoices without manual intervention.
B2B order workflow
The B2B order process can include validation steps. A buyer submits an order that is reviewed by a manager before confirmation. This approval workflow is essential for companies with formalized purchasing processes.
Recurring orders simplify restocking. A professional customer can duplicate a previous order in one click, which speeds up the process for regular orders.
The advantage of a unified platform
Managing B2B and B2C on the same platform eliminates duplication of catalogs, inventory and processes. Product updates are made once and propagate to both channels. Consolidated reports give a global view of your business.
